Alikadam (Bandarban) Correspondent
A total of Tk 28,200 has been granted to support the purchase of medicines for children affected by a measles outbreak in Alikadam upazila of Bandarban district.
According to sources, the financial assistance was jointly provided by the Austria-based humanitarian organization Sonne International Austria and the local organization Tahjingdong. The funds were distributed through the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Monjur Alam.
Present during the handover were the Upazila Project Implementation Officer KM Nazrul Islam, Field Office Coordinator of Sonne International in Alikadam Sabarang Tripura, and Accounts Assistant Md. Riaz Hossain.
The donated funds will be used to purchase necessary medicines for children affected by measles. With the recent increase in measles cases in the area, many families have been struggling to bear the cost of treatment. This assistance is expected to play a vital role in ensuring proper medical care for the affected children.
The upazila administration stated that necessary steps are being taken to address the situation, and such support initiatives will continue in the future.
Local residents have welcomed this humanitarian effort and expressed their gratitude to all those involved.
